History

Argentmúsica began its activities as The Drangosch Group in November 1999 , within the frame of the National University Institute of Arts (IUNA). The purpose of this association of professional musicians is to discover and preserve works by Argentine classical composers. After composers died this intangible heritage was unfairly neglected in many cases and the risk exists of its disappearing . Our task is to recover the material from private and public libraries. In some cases manuscripts need to be revised for being published. This material is disseminated through recitals , lectures , and recordings.

We present our yearly concert series in Buenos Aires at the Teatro Colón Golden Hall and the "Isaac Fernández Blanco" Museum of Spanish American Art , and have also been active in several Argentine cities, and in the US, Canada, and the UK. In 2002 Argentmúsica released its first CD featuring piano works and songs by Ernesto Drangosch sponsored by the Argentine Music Council and the German Embassy. This recording obtained the 2002 TRIMARG-Unesco award. The second CD, "Argentine classical composers and the tango (1867-2002) was recorded in 2002. Other recordings to be soon released include works by Alberto Williams, Manuel Gómez Carrillo, and Angel Lasala.

Members of the board are Estela Telerman, Guillermo Cárdenas, Silvina Martino, Guillermo Carro, Patricia Pasmanter and Daniel Napoli. Ana Laura González, Blas González (US), Estela Ojeda, Federico Oro Vojacek and José Luis Sarre, actively cooperate with Argentmúsica, Lic. Ana María Móndolo, Lic. Óscar Olmello and Hernán Here are artistic consultants, and Andrés Gaos is technical assistant.
